What does success really look like?

Success in the City Charity Event

It was fantastic to be involved with last nights high-profile charity event, Success in the City, at the East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf, raising funds for Women's Aid

We created the concept for the evening and designed and produced all of the marketing materials for the event; including the event logo, print adverts, posters and onscreen advert for Canary Wharf’s big screen (see the creative here)

We were also given a self promotional opportunity at the event itself and the chance to include a little something inside the 400 gift bags that would be given out at the end of the night. Other event sponsors included Thomson Reuters, Pommery Champagne, Dermalogica, Tiffany & Co, Nails inc and Virgin Active to name but a few…

As always, we wanted to do something slightly different: but something that tied in directly with the evening’s theme of celebrating success in business.

What on earth do you put in a goodie bag to be given to some of the most successful businessmen and women in London? Where would you least expect to see a marketing idea at an event? How do we make people smile rather than going in hard with a scripted and predictable sales schpeel?

And so our concept was born.

For the goodie bags we designed and produced pocket mirrors – not only useful to have in handbags and manbags – but each asked the question ‘What does success look like?’ The answer was found in the mirror as seen by each of our 400 shining stars.

The reverse side of the mirrors featured the twist, in the guise of two other successful people: the music legend Madonna and one of our most successful entrepreneurs, Lord Alan Sugar.

So imagine our excitement when we saw Debra Barr (from the Apprentice Series 5) across the room!! With Lord Sugar in our back pocket we had to introduce ourselves and our idea… (Let’s hope that he sees one too!!!)

What a great sport!

Talking of great sports... Sir Matthew Pinsent loved his moment as Madonna!! As the pocket mirror slipped into his inside jacket pocket and he disappeared into the evening we knew that this simple idea and useful giveaway would cause amusement and entertainment as well as leaving people with a little taste of PinkGreen.

And Sky Sports Charlie Webster made a simply gorgeous Lord Sugar, whilst our Simon was a blushing Madonna!!!

Mirrors became integral to our idea, and where better to take our concept next… but to the ladies… and the gents!!!!

We created vinyls to adorn the bathroom mirrors. Each one asking the question what does success look like? Each one celebrating the success of a business icon from Tamara Mellon, Founder of Jimmy Choo and Anna Wintour, Editor of American Vogue, through to the world’s most successful recording artist Elton John and record Grand Slam Singles titles holder Roger Federer. The fun came in the fact that those using the mirrors could interact with the mirror vinyls and put themselves in the picture.

Anna’s trademark bob was a hit in the ladies, and Tamara in the gents… It definitely got people talking and added a fun element to a comfort break!!

Success is key to all of our businesses. Without it, we all know what happens. Great marketing ideas can start conversations, open doors of opportunity and make people remember you when others are a distant memory. An investment in marketing pays dividends.

We help businesses become more successful through strategic, creative marketing.

Sales pitch over!
